Portland area dive shops with drysuits?
I want to try on some drysuits. I know Oregon Underwater (NE Halsey & 122) in portland only has about 5 suits (one brand/style). So I will head over there and try some on.
Hydrosports in Salem had 1 used suit. Salem Scuba had a white fusion (but I have decided not to go that route).
But any other dive shops that have drysuits in stock where someone could try them on?
Thanks!

Try Thunder Reef, they have used suits and new DUI, Bare Suits. They deal in more but only have the two brands new in stock.

seven seas scuba in vancouver has bare suits, and under water works in tigard has usia.

Steve's Scuba in Milwaukee also has DUI drysuits.

I need to go visit Steve's and Underwater Works because it has been years. I need to go when I don't have any money so I don't buy anything.

Just curious about the fusion, was it cost (ouch!) or something else? I spent a weekend in a rental and was considering buying one.oregondiver wrote:

It depends on who you talk to and what options.
A whites fusion can be $2400 (for the suit, covering, thermie, boots, bag)
It can also be $1600 (lower quality covering, different fusion suit).
diverightinscuba.com had it for $1600 yesterday...or was it $1400?
Ron at Hoodsport N Dive has two of them (used, barely)....one was $1400 and I didn't ask about the other one.
I have heard rumors about $1200 for the basic suit & covering...maybe someone here can get you the beta. Good luck!

Just dive wet. I swear by it.

I dive the Bare basic dry shell. It's like a grand- cheaper if you catch them on sale or used. I love it. 7C's (sevenseasscuba.com) in Vancouver is where I go for my stuff--they have several types of suits in. Just hunt around until you find what you want. I would recommend a loose fitting tri-lam shell--- you can pack on as much or as little thermal as you want.

Thanks everyone. SOunds like the local dive shops DO have suits I can try on. I guess the few shops I have been in lately just didnt' have suits in stock but sounds like others do! I will start checking them out in the next few weeks!

Just putting in a good word for Dave down at Under Water Works. The guy is extremely knowledgeable. He's a USIA and Viking dealer. Even if you don't buy a suit from him he's a good person to talk to as far as getting an idea of exactly what you want, good fit etc.
