Dive Around the Clock fast approaches! This year's event begins Friday, July 19 at 4:00 pm and runs thro Saturday, July 20 at 4:00 pm. As always, the location is Redondo Beach in Des Moines.
For 24 hours each July divers "take over" Redondo and maintain a continuous diver presence in the water with teams entering the water every 30 minutes in the effort to fundraise for pediatric cancer research. All proceeds and pledges collected by divers support Seattle Children's Hospital.
After registering divers can set up their own donation web page through First Giving (details given during DATC registration). A plaque is awarded to the dive club who is able to raise the most money. Many from this site participate, and a few years ago NWDC brought it home

Looking forward to seeing a big turnout this year. What's your fundraising goal?

I didn't put in a goal, but I'm already signed up. If anyone wants to donate, you can do it here: https://www.firstgiving.com/fundraiser/ ... -the-clock

Awesome! Who else is planning on going?
Re: Dive Around the Clock 2013
I'll be there and have also signed up to volunteer for most of the event.
The ocean is a lousy teacher. First you get a test, then the lesson.

I just signed up to volunteer for the night shift... what have I gotten myself into?
Re: Dive Around the Clock 2013
Night shift is the most fun, IMHO. It takes a special person to work at night, it's a different feel, and you get to see the sunrise. Thanks for volunteering on these typically hard-to-fill hours!Emilyrc wrote:I just signed up to volunteer for the night shift... what have I gotten myself into?

So I'm signed up for 8pm... Do I need to sign up for more dive's if I'm thinking of multiple dives "around the clock"?
Re: Dive Around the Clock 2013
You can do several if you like. There are still a few times not yet covered, I'll get a list and post (and of course, there can be more than one team in the water at a time).fishb0y wrote:So I'm signed up for 8pm... If anyone is interested in volunteering at the event please register as well!
