O-ring lube is good to have around.

Also, Talc or KY Jelly for getting through the seals.

Water bottle.

I have a spare SPG and a spare low preasure hose not sure how I come to have a spare low preasure hose but I do.

as I use contacts to see I keep a spare set of contacts and my old glasses with me while diving as well

I would have to get it out and rummage through it to see what else has made its home in my Save A Dive kit

if your going to be diving Dry dont forget some Zipper Wax I had some inmine even though I dive wet and guess what all my dive buds used it up So I gather im not to farr off the mark with that one.

I also keep a small bottle of TriFlow I find it is a good Idea to coat my dive knives with it from time to time helps keep the blades clean and sharp

Just to name a few

keep my posted on your progress now im wondering what you decide is important enough to keep a spare

Tools - alan wrenches, screw drivers, what else?

Also a crescent wrench, for removing hoses from the reg and swapping around.

I keep spare batteries for my computers/lights, Aquaseal, a variety of clips and 'biners, zip ties in various sizes, fin/mask straps, bungee cord, O rings (various sizes, viton and regular), plugs for reg ports.

I also carry a camera SADK, with a lint-free cloth, spare charged bateries, spare O ring, silicone grease etc.

Good thread!

I prefer the Dive Butler to Tank-Sherpa. The DB would also be there to assist you out of the water, adjust gear prior to entering, and take of things in general (including post-dive gear cleaning).

I keep emergency supplies in my SAD kit too.

* Chemical lights
* Bottle of vinegar
* Bag of latex gloves
* First Aid Kit
* Pocket mask
* Slate with emergency responder questionaire
* Slate with neuro exam questionaire

I also usually keep a printout of my dive plan, my emergency action plan with phone numbers, etc.

I keep a 100% O2 bottle with reg in the car when we dive as well; it's not as good as a DAN bottle with demand reg (which I have but have not yet gotten filled) but in a pinch it will do; especially with a conscious, but bent diver awaiting transport.

While not in my true SADK, in the fall and winter I carry a fleece hat and gloves in my dry bag for wearing on the surface interval, to keep warm. In my first aid kit (Save-a-Dive, Save-a-Life) kit I carry the usual meds (pseudephed, tylenol, naproxen, Zantac, Tums, Bendryl) plus pocket mask, ace wraps, bandaging materials, splinting materials, vinegar, DAN emergency slate, neuro slate etc. If I'm traveling away from the Seattle area (ie, larger metropolitan area) I also carry my Remo kit, to extend my O2 supply if needed.

-Valerie
PS: Duct tape also makes an excellent bandage material!

yep, 'cuz you never know how you're going to react. I'd hate to find out I was allergic to something and not be able to treat it right away.

Actually as a last minute thing, I added a roll of Black Electrical Tape. And Scissors.
And it was used by someone for a neck seal repair. Older seal, had a pin hole.
Pin hole can become a big hole if not addressed! huh?
They cut a small circle and applied it over the pin hole.
I also threw in some Chem-Lights

A few Protien bars could work

Okay Sounder, your turn, Put together a new list of what the ultimate Save-A-Dive kit should have. :supz:

I got the vinigar from a nearby restaurant, It did not help with the stinging/ pain as much as the amonia did.
I have been told the vinigar will kill any of the stingers from continuing to Fire / sting.

Vinegar neutralizes any further (warning, here comes a technical term) :book: "jelly fish stinging thingies", and keeps it from getting worse by rubbing and inadvertently getting stung again.

Ammonia seems to stop or greatly reduce the itching, discomfort, etc., although as Bassman noted, as SOON as you go back in the salt water they start again! (Not sure why.)

Dousing the area around your lips and face with ammonia is kind of like sticking your head in a diaper pail :vom: (for those who are old enough to remember such things), and I beleive the ammonia perscription is the reason folks mention peeing on it to take the sting away. :toimonster: Many over the counter anti itch sticks have ammonia as their active ingredient.
