Hi All - New to NWDC

Post by Magoi »

I'm new to the club and new to diving. Took my OW on Sept. 1 and immediately went on to AOW. I've been collecting gear since and am looking forward to doing some diving. Are you ever done collecting gear?

Welcome to the board Magoi! :salute:
Collecting of gear for me is directly proportional to how many scuba units I have available.
1 scuba Unit = $100.00

It just sounds easier to spend 4 scuba units on an undergarment than $400.00 :smt119

I'll let you know as soon as I get a backplate/wing and a can light. Oh, and a new drysuit. And a new undergarment. And...

Me too sister... Me Too! :supz:

The undergarment is about the only thing I don't need to replace.
That and my SPLITFINS! :smt119 "Yeah I said it...Don't no one be a hater of splitfins!"
Just keep your coments to yourself, I have read them all. :smt024 ...Twice!
And I still like them.

Diving. . . is an active physical form of meditation. It is so silent- You're like a thought.

SOME PEOPLE ARE LIKE SLINKIES. NOT REALLY GOOD FOR
ANYTHING, BUT THEY BRING A SMILE TO YOUR FACE WHEN PUSHED DOWN THE
STAIRS.

I'm so happy with my undergarment I'm thinking..."What would happen if I just dove in my undergarment?"

"Would I still be warm?" :naka:

Because as wet as I've been getting lately #-o , I'm amazed how warm I stay. :supz:

Yeah Baby! Split fins Rock! :supz:

But I still want to get a pair of Paddles, just to have the diversity and the ability to do a good back kick.
I have yet to actually see some one do the back kick. As far as I know, there are only a few who can actually do it with split fins.

...and a scooter, a second bp/w for doubles, more tanks, additional regs, a back-up drysuit, a back-up undergarment, more tanks, and extra HID for your buddy, several stage/deco bottles, more tanks, an even larger HID, new back-up lights, a boat, more training, more tanks, a compressor... it never ends.

Sounder, my darling husband will divorce my broke @ss before I get to buy a scooter. He needs to have a heart to heart chat with Mrs. Sounder. I tried (in vain) last night to convince him that a good can light was an essential piece of safety equipment. There was some nattering about a 401k being an essential piece of life planning equipment. Blah blah. I want a can light.

Have you looked at your 401k lately? You would probably get a better return on a used Salvo!

That was my argument exactly! With the current returns of about -50% over the last twelve months, a 21W Salvo is looking like a solid investment. Alas, it appears that I will continue to put money into the 401k and wait for Santa to bring me a Salvo. Santa? Are you listening? Helllloooo??
