Mukilteo t-dock tonight was about 15 feet at 40' and about 20 feet at 70'. It was quite progressively better - and darker... Not at good as last Thursday but still pretty good.

We dove Sekiu Jetty, Pinnacle Rock and Salt Creek on Monday along the Straight of Jaun de Fuca and vis was about 10'-15'. It wasn't too bad since it was sunny so you could still make out shadows farther away. Great dives, great day!

Just returned from Langley Tire Reef, Whidbey Island. High tide. First twenty feet about foot or two, opens up under thermocline to fifteen. Not too bad, although still lots of particles in the water plus chunks of sea lettuce..

TTN today was 40 ft plus below 30 fsw - just gorgeous! 2nd dive north was only 25ft below 40fsw. We didn't go deep, but viz appeared to get better as you went deeper.

Keep those viz reports comng!

Last night vis at Cove 2 wasn't as bad as its been, maybe 5-10 feet or so-but got worse down by the i-beams, probably due to the gaggle of divers down there when we arrived.

Cove 2 tonight was easily 30 feet ... even in the shallows.

Took out a new diver who'd never done a cold-water dive before. I had to sadly inform her that she wouldn't often see vis that good here, so enjoy it ...

Cove 2 this morning was fantastic.
Surface swam out to the white buoy, got ready to descend, looked down and could see the bottom. Every inch of the chain all the way down to the concrete block on the bottom was visible.

Started moving down the trail to visit the Buddha, at 55' I looked up and could see the surface rippling above.

It was awesome.

Redondo had 30 ft. viz Friday around 10 AM - on a LOW tide. GD said it was 40+ when he did an early morning dive there.

I heard reports of Les Davis, of all places, being 30ft plus on Friday as well.

I know this doesn't last long... Hope you all are getting in the water!

Very tempting Ron. Hmmm... Let's see, Lakefair fireworks or diving? I'll give you a call in the early afternoon if I'm in.

I second that viz at cove 2 today was outstanding, it was nice to see all of the I beams in one glance.

Unfortunately we had to go to cove 2 because the water at TTN was a distinct solid orange along the shore. Gross.

Interesting. We saw signs of that on the South side of Three Tree Point on Thursday but it hadn't yet moved around the point.

Did you actually see it and then decide not to go in? Does anyone know if this stuff would be harmful to divers walking through it? It seemed to only be on the shoreline - the first few feet or so.

I saw it and called my buddy before he got there. It extended 5-15 feet out from the shoreline today and I could see another wave of it farther offshore. It smelled kind of bad too.

Oddly enough, when we first dropped down at Cove 2 today I saw a jellyfish with the same orange stuff spotted inside.

flood saw diminished

High slack saw 20 feet of milk and then moderate vis.

Three Tree this late afternoon was really nice. You could actually see all three of the first tire reefs straight out from the entry at the same time. I would estimate horizontal viz at about 40 feet and vertical viz was easily the same.

We splashed at about 7 pm or so.

It was a really high tide with very little beach.

I'm actually hoping the vis in Cove 3 isn't so great this morning ... I'm off in an hour or so to teach an AOW class, and good vis makes the navigation exercises too easy ...

I think that a tide cycle or two gets rid of it.

Low tide, the tide will scrub the schmutz out of the shallows as it drops, also afternoon winds will stir things up.

Three tree this morning was even more amazing that last night. I will post a video after I get back from a birthday party. Look for it in the morning.

I would say, get to Three Tree today and dive!!!
