I believe he is a scaleyhead sculpin? Whatever he is, the poor guy was breathing but not swimming very far. When he went to fall off the rock he was perched on, I had to catch him.
Is this a natural death? Or is he dying from a disease? Notice the purplish stuff on his body, thats internal injuries or a disease i believe.
Whatever is wrong, i know he is off color and that's why i stopped to take pictures.
What is wrong with this guy???

He is a Male Scalyhead Sculpin. No idea what's wrong - maybe he's dying?

With the abnormally swollen stomach, the two things that come to mind are either an internal tumor (I necropsied a fish that died from a huge tumor on its liver), or it ate something that caused internal damage after it was swallowed (e.g., a bad-ass crab).

Of course Greg would go with a crab angle.Greg Jensen wrote:With the abnormally swollen stomach, the two things that come to mind are either an internal tumor (I necropsied a fish that died from a huge tumor on its liver), or it ate something that caused internal damage after it was swallowed (e.g., a bad-ass crab).
