woohoo!! We were there yesterday and Its a helluva trek in doubles from the parking lot over to the far end beach entry..

Viz was actaully REAL good on the incoming tide.

imho, you could break a leg easier on those steps than the one they blocked off.. at least there was a hand rail..

oh well.. lets hope they can get it done sooner or later :)

I agree, going over the wall at the beach is crazy. We've been lucky enough to be able to use the boat ramp as there havent been any boaters or folks fishing on the pier when we've dived.

The road project is a replacement of the storm sewer as there was a sink hole or so I was told.

Poor 'ol Scott at the Marina...I was in there the other day asking about the stair status too.
We've got a batch of programs coming up at the Marine Science &Tech pier this month.
We really needed the repair work done.
Where is Fritz?? Fritz! Tell 'em that the step disrepair had nothing to do with your leg breaking scenario!

Good to hear. My wife piled it up on the asphalt in full gear trying to get over the wall by the beach......

The steps are temporarily open at Redondo. We needed them open for the MAST programs this week.
Permanent fix coming very soon. Actually, the sandbags work pretty darn well!

Mcloed and I used the steps this afternoon, and the sand bags were quite effective. Many thanks to whoever put them there!

Do I get to put my footprint (or face plant) into some wet concrete at any time soon?

Fritz! We're gonna name it the "Fritz Merkel Slip-n-Slide Adventure Staircase".
I didn' really want to put the word, "Memorial" in there.

I was there wed. Those sandbags work quite well and shouldn't be effected by the wave action.
