Fox Island West Wall - No Go

Post by Gdog »

Drove out to dive the west wall on Fox Island, a nice easy dive and a decent small wall with good amount of life usually. The neighbor is redoing the boulders in front of his house. This takes a huge barge loaded with huge rocks, the work is done at low tide with a track hoe. The barge is anchored pretty much directly over the wall, and the route to the wall. Im sure there has been some debris and rock dropped over the side, so who knows the damage to the underwater terrain.
So....write this site off of your list for a little while. The owner told us that he is replacing the old rocks because they are "rotten".....didnt know rocks rotted. The rock he is putting in is very nice tho....gotta give him that! Its gotta be costing him a bundle to do.

Should have asked him to drop a few more to improve the strata down there and attract more critters. I'm thinkin those "rotten rocks' are probably down there already.
