I figured I had better change from the Red Irish Santa now that Christmas is over, so I have several 'general diving' photos already presized that I use for the front page of pnwscuba, and grabbed that one! Love the colors. Was trying to figure out how to caption it on here, but didn't know how. So ...

B-Dub sighting!
Today, I was out geocaching with some other divers (yes, we do have other hobbies besides diving!) and we were hunting some over at Alki... I realized I didn't have a good photo for my dive site directions page on my pnwscuba website, so we stopped so I could take a few shots of the beach area. Who ...

Holly, great shots for your first time around! Taking pics underwater is quite addicting and you'll just get better and better.... Sea Life sells a specially made weight that goes on the INSIDE of the strobe, in the battery compartment. This solves the problem - it's basically that huge strobe head ...

Valerie earns DAN's esteemed instructor ranking!
Wow, she did it. Whatever this gal sets off to do, she accomplishes it in a BIG way, that's for sure. She (our own ZenDiver) has worked for an attained the highly esteemed Dive Emergency Specialist Instructor certification. There are only TWO other DES Instructors in the entire State of Washington, ...

Untreated Sewage dumped into Puget Sound during storm
I think I'd think twice about diving in the Sound anytime soon!!! http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/localnews/2003480669_stormsewage16m.html "While the massive but relatively brief spill isn't expected to cause long-term environmental damage on its own, health officials were advising people...

Well, I do know last April or so, she authorized some emergency funding to go to the Styela clava tunicate problem, so that seemed pretty good. I don't know that she's been in office long enough to have a track record...anyone else have a feel for this? And yes, Congressman Norm Dicks spoke, as well...

Divers make a Dry Splash at Press Conference for Governor
The dive community was well represented by Washington Scuba Alliance members at a press conference for Governor Gregoire and the Puget Sound Partnership on December 13th, 2006. Divers wearing drysuits and were interviewed and photographed by many members of the press. Governor Gregoire specifically ...

I've seen orcas plenty of times right BEFORE or AFTER a dive, but never DURING a dive. And when you think about how close they'd have to be to you, in order for you to actually SEE them....hmmmm....that would be a tad bit unnerving. and considering the stuff they like for dinner is about our size, a...

Bob, Do you know if there is any kind of Civil penalty? A civil suit could be brought against Dave by Chad's family ... but I do not know if they are considering such an action. Nor do I know if there would be any benefit to their doing so, since Dave had no insurance . Right now what Chad's loved ...

- Janna :) How in the world did you get that Red Irish Lord to pose with that santa hat on? When I tried to put a Santa hat on one of those lingcod at EUP, he just kept knocking it off with his pectoral fin. Tim Ah, well, I've been at this just a few years longer than you, Tim. Patience. It took ye...

One of the things I have loved about being underwater is the fact that even in the worst allergy seasons, I don't seem to feel the need to sneeze underwater. Even when sneezing topside before and after the dive! Did you have a cold? Allergy? Any reason you can think of WHY you'd have the urge to sne...

The tug sounds cool, actually! How was the food and the accomodations? I have a friend who dove in the Agememnon channel YEARS ago, and stayed on a tug, but then the guy went out of business - I have to wonder if this is the same tug, resurrected with a new owner! Port Hardy - Clam Cove Hideaway?
Has anyone ever been to this place? It's an alternative to God's Pocket. I hear the hideaway is a floating lodge, very primitive, but the prices are very good and about half the cost of God's Pocket. I want a warm place, comfy bed, decent food, and a bathroom is always good. A dive operator who know...

I led a REEF Field Survey to Rendezvous Lodge at the beginning of October, and have finally gotten my underwater pics scanned in a month later! I know I'm slow! And yes, some of us still like film :) So I posted a sampling of the underwater ones, along with some of the topside photos on my smugmug p...
