Critter ID
I have seen these guys recently, at Cove 2 and this one at Norrander's Reef. Do not recall seeing any before this year. Cannot find it in my books. It was about 2.5 - 3 inches long. The one I saw at Cove 2 also had some kelp stuck to it at what I think is the head end. What is it?

Sculpin Question
I got a shot of this guy at Cove 2 last Sunday. He was about 14 inches long, my ID is Red Irish Lord. I cannot find the whisker-like things on his face, head, and back in the book photos I have. Are they normal or parasites?

Re: Iceland
There is a lot of hydrothermal activity there. One dive I am doing with my wife and daughter there in a few weeks is at an underwater hydrothermal vent in a fjord on the north side of the island (site is called Strytan). It is reported as the only undersea hydrothermal vent that is in recreational d...

Thanks for the video. Less than 5 weeks until I will be there with wife and daughter. What else did you do in Iceland? We are also doing a couple dives near Strytan and then a self drive tour around the island.

The tiff was just screen grabs on the Mac. I will get the video done when I am home. Plan on doing the video work on my 7hour flight back. @magoi who are you diving with when here? We are diving with David Ramsay of Magma Dive for Silfra and Erlandur Bogason of the Strytan Dive Center for Strytan. ...

Images are there for me too. Looks like you (of the DM) are floating in air. Thanks for the pics. Am headed there in 1.5 months with wife and daughter. Different operator. Am also doing a dive with a guy who discovered a hydrothermal vent in a fjord on the north side of the island. Then a driving to...

Re: Nudi ID Help! From Elephant Wall, Hood Canal
Closest guess I have from Behrens's nudibranch book is Dendronotus Frondosus or Branched Dendronotus. The size is reported at an average of 20 mm (less than 1 inch) or up to 30 mm. We'll see what the real experts say.

I contacted diveiceland.is and found a trip that fit my needs exactly. Traded a few emails getting the details worked out and then they stopped answering emails for over 2 weeks. Found another one that is working with me on a custom plan magmadive.is

Re: The Wreck of the Salvatierra, La Paz, Mexico
Magoi, are you doing the Rocio del Mar trip? If so, I am officially envious. I would love to do one of those, but they book up a couple of years in advance. I am on the Rocio del Mar trip in late October. I was at the dive expo a couple years ago with my dive buddies. Saw the booth, told my buddies...

Re: The Wreck of the Salvatierra, La Paz, Mexico
Thanks for the nice video. I've been on that wreck twice - it is a nice dive. Will hopefully do it again this fall - doing a liveaboard that runs the entire length of the Sea of Cortez in 10 days, Rocky Point to Cabo San Lucas.

Re: Iceland
I am in the process of planning a trip there in late August. For the hydrothermal vent diving at the north end of Iceland I have been trading emails with the operator. There appear to be several operators doing the Strytan dive, but it looks like everyone contracts with Erlendur Bogason and adds the...

Fort Ward 3/9
Dusty has gotten me to do my first dive recap. Did a dive at Fort Ward on 3/9 with the GSNDAMBAA. The original plan was to dive the Crib. However, since the dive planners had not been to the site for 13 years, a house had been built at the former beach access. So, we reverted to Plan B, which was Fo...

Re: Nudi ID
Wow. Thanks Rich. It is a new find for me. My first time to Fort Ward - saw 5 different nudi's on that dive. It is a good place for muck diving. Really appreciate this forum too - have learned much from it.

Re: Nudi ID
When I shot the photo I thought it was a tritonia festiva too. It was not until I looked at the photo that I had doubts. The rounded body and bumps were a surprise. The head does look like the t f. Thanks for the link to the Sea Slug Forum. There was a photo from 2002 in BC (Marli Wakeling) with a t...

Nudi ID
Did a dive at Fort Ward last weekend and I caught this nudi. Not a great picture, but is this a white dorid laying eggs? Have never seen the frill on a nudi before.
