Re: Setting up a SIB/RIB for diving?
I'll let you and Bill know when it's up and going. I can't wait, because diving some new sites will be nice.

Re: Setting up a SIB/RIB for diving?
Thanks again for all of the info at the start of the project, I just realized I never did put up pictures of the project. It's been a long winter of projects from rebuilding the entire water pump/lower seal, splicing line, rebuilding, cleaning and balancing the carbs, more gear aquiring, and current...

Re: Harper Pier / Barbara G
I'll definitely stop by and say hi if I see your vehicle Bill. If you see a roll of poly rope on the roof of a blue Subaru, go ahead and grab it. We've got to find fills Friday night or Saturday morning before I can head out to dive.

Re: Harper Pier / Barbara G
I have a few hundred feet of harbor freight yellow poly line I could donate. We were looking at Saturday or Sunday heading out that way to dive. I won't be much help for installing the line this weekend. I'll be diving with the fiance who is getting used to a new drysuit, and a couple new pieces of ...

That's good news, I was hoping to take someone out there soon. If the line isn't installed, what is the rough bearing from the rock wall? I haven't been out there in years...

Re: Tire Reef Removal?
As long as they mark it somehow so divers don't go in the wrong area, it's not a big deal, or loss at that site. A barrier of sorts signifying the end of the diving area is all that is needed. There is hardly any life on those tires, few people go that far, or even see the other tires stacks that pa...

Re: Backplate??
I always had trouble dumping gas with a Ranger with smaller singles, and I know several others that had the same problem... The wing is too big for singles so it tacos and traps air, the horshoe shape takes getting used to... The wing is like diving with a doubles wing with singles... Not optimum by...

Re: The perfect dive web site?
A couple days ago the site registration was out as well. But I'm getting the same errors with the site now. Main page and search is working, but not the specific pages for the dive sites I looked at.

Re: Backplate??
If she plans to use doubles, this is a screaming deal http://www.diverightinscuba.com/catalog/techequipment-c-363/dive-rite-doubles-wing-package.html If singles, every few weeks or so it seems like this setup has been going on sale for $329... My fiance just got one a couple weeks ago. Even not on s...

Diving with Pacific Adventure 12/6
As always, i've been really impressed with this boat crew. On this trip we had Mike and Samantha for our crew. They greeted us at the dock, and wheeled our tanks down the dock. Loaded up the boat and headed out. Dive site one was I believe the fingers? Which was this nice wall. Waves were kicking up...

Re: CO detectors
I did want an opinion, and your opinion greatly helped toward finding further information to compare the models. On my phone with the bad font it looked like 3.5ppm, not 35ppm on their site this morning. Sorry if swyping fast on break on my phone at work came off as harsh... I'm just surprised there...

Re: CO detectors
Do you really wait for an alarm? It's resolution is 1ppm, I don't care about the alarm, I can read numbers just fine when I'm analyzing a tank. I can easily take note of a high reading if I know what I'm looking for. The Oxycheq is +/-2ppm resolution, alarm of 10ppm with 0.5ppm drift per year. 6.0pp...

CO detectors
In prep for our trip in a few months I started looking at CO detectors for vacation again, along with the last post. I know we get fills in more questionable locale on vaca... I'm not super worried about my air where I get fills locally, it gets tested a lot, and the testing is posted. The CO detect...

Re: Light advice
If you are going to spend the money, always get the brightest light you can afford, you won't regret it. I thought I didn't need a 35 watt hid, but after diving one, and diving with people with 50watts, it's hard to imagine diving without 3000 lumen... Quality of build, construction methods and mate...

Re: GoBe Light setup for GoPro?
I wound up saving a lot of money and going with the DRIS Impact Stubby as mentioned previously in the thread. A few people wanted to know how they turned out. The beam is 140 degrees without any extra diffuser. I could always put tonight's video in a thread under the light name after I edit it. Sinc...

DRIS Impact Stubby Video Lights on a Hero3
Well, here is the first video from the DRIS Impact Stubby Lights with the Hero3. I'm actually fairly impressed, since the warranty is decent, and the price was fairly good. I'll need practice and pointers for getting all the lighting correct all the time I'm sure.

Re: And they think we are crazy!
The craziest part I see is they don't have drysuits on... We kayak the class III/IV rivers when it's snowing around here, and at least salt water doesn't freeze on your gear... Albeit I prefer diving over kayaking in freezing weather...

Re: Your Thoughts on Liquivision
I like my xen a lot for most of my diving, and have been contemplating another for my scooter. That being said, a shearwater petrel is cheaper, longer battery life, better battery options, doesn't require the additional expense of buying an adapter to download your dives, vpm upgradeable as well and...

The junction that heads to the honey bear is about the second yellow buoy, which cuts by the cigarette buoy, and continues past across the site.

Lanyard/leashes on your gopro?
So I've been assembling my first uw gopro kit. I was curious what lanyards, or leashes were you guys using and what lengths. My thought was rig the tray like a stage bottle and tuck the setup under my arm on the left side when not in use. Anyone using one of those clipable extending camera leashes s...
