Today we did the sunken buoy that is adjacent to the Omar (not the original plan!) and Blake Island reef. Viz in both places was okay but not fabulous, maybe 15 feet, again with a lot of large particulates (not whale snot- finer than that).
Hey Lynne,
Thanks for the report, I was hoping for better viz than that. I have a skills class setup with Bob this weekend and really don't want to reschedule it again. I guess we shall see what happens as the week goes on.
Three Tree was a hazy 25-30' - once again the best viz in the South Sound. Current was a bit annoying, but being able to see - wonderful!

Cove 2, 0645, just before +11 high tide. Able to see bottom from first yellow buoy along ferry line. Viz around 25-30' and able to see entire Honey Bear from about 15' down slope at mid-ships, and seeing surface ripples from 40'. Awesome!
Vis at Cove 3 yesterday was freak'n awesome ... about 40 feet at high tide, degenerating to only about 25 feet as the tide went out. I'll consider it our compensation for putting up with weeks of bad vis up till now ...

Viz 20 Ft at Blakely Rock's China Wall and Shilshole's Omar and the Rock Sunday 10/14
The marker buoy is missing again from China Wall. The barge buoy is still missing from Shilshole - that's a good thing.
Unfortunately the good vis at Redondo didn't stick around long. This time, though, it's due to stormwater runoff. Down to about 50 feet it's in the 8-10 foot range. Then it starts to open up down to about 70. Below 70 feet it's great ... but dark.

Cove 2, 0630 Friday, just after high tide. Another nice morning/ night dive at C2 with viz a very nice 20' of so surface down to about 80 fsw -ish, then picking up some particulates down to the bottom of the beams.
Sund Rock was 15-25' once you got below 30 fsw or so. Winter diving is officially here, temps read 48 & 49 degrees on our dives, and my Oceanic runs a few degrees warmer than actual.
