Keith and I went out to flagpole yesterday. We had been watching an octopus there and waiting for the hatch, but I had missed a few weeks and she was gone and so were the babies. Just the empty cases hanging from the ceiling and a wolf eel already moved into the hole.
On a sad note one of the largest cloud sponges had been cut in two, about a foot off the bottom and the top laying about 2' away.. either a crab trap or a boat anchor is my guess, but just a guess. Don't know if they re attach themselves or not, but it is sitting straight up at this time.
Water vis was about 25' and not much to take pictures of. With macro on I didn't take any pictures of the cloud sponge. Weather was a balmy 29* and snow off and on.

Sorry you missed the octo hatch, but glad you got out there!
