Brand New Diver
Brand New Diver
Hello to all. I am recently certified and chomping at the bit to do more diving. I'm always looking for a diving buddy and group of people with whom to dive. My hours/days are somewhat flexible and I'd like to learn from everyone's experiences in the PNW!

Welcome gggrove!
If you passed the test of your first immersion in our "brisk" waters of the PNW and you're chomping at the bit for more, you've found the right place. As JT said there are a couple great weekly dives as well as folks getting together here and there on the regular.
Bienvenido!

Welcome aboard, I'm a brand new diver as well (11 dives so far). I'm in the Edmonds area and am also looking for people to dive with; feel free to reach out.

Re: Brand New Diver
Sweet. Where do you start your dive trips?
Re: Brand New Diver
Thanks to all of you for the replies!!!! I'm looking forward to the new adventures. I did spend several weeks on Maui back in December and managed to log 14 more dives, so I'm not quite as green as I was. I'm now looking at some drysuit options and hope to join you soon!!!

Welcome to the group. Where do you live? North end south end? I'm in Puyallup and dive the seattle and south sites regularly and am always looking for new dive buddies. I am on dive 31 (certified on Thanksgiving weekend) so still a new diver. ThThTh dive is a great group and then there is grub afterwards at Billy McHales, I learn more at the dinner afterwards than I did at OW or AOW classes.

Re: Brand New Diver
Wait! What! There is still a Billy McHales still open?
Re: Brand New Diver
Yup, just one left. The old pink one on 320th moved a couple blocks about 6 years ago. It's our usual hang out after ThThTh...johndo88 wrote:Wait! What! There is still a Billy McHales still open?
See you there sometime?

Welcome! what a great time to be in Maui...
I happen to have a drysuit up for sale, since I'm not really able to deal with the weight of cold-water gear required very well anymore. Thread with pics is at viewtopic.php?f=45&t=26923 - it's a neoprene suit rather than a shell, and your size of course tends to make just a wee bit of difference Take a look and PM me if it's of interest.

What sites did you hit? I recently hit Makena Landing, Polo and Mala Wharf in Maui... They were better than I expected!gggrove wrote:I did spend several weeks on Maui back in December and managed to log 14 more dives, so I'm not quite as green as I was. Looking forward to seeing you at a local dive site!
