A loosely related actually kind of a funny story. A few years back, after filming a number of GPO's out walking around I became absolutely convinced that there were two phenotypes types based on video after video there were the 'normal ones' with thick legs, and more blobby skin and darker color and then there were some that had long long beautiful slim legs and just looked... different, i couldn't exactly put my finger on the difference (beyond the leg length and that they looked 'prettier'). Rabidly convinced and borderline obsessed if you will... I was so excited (and sure) about my potential discovery that I decided to mention it to Jeff C. from Seattle Aquarium... His reply: "oh yeah, good eye, some of my colleagues have been working on a paper on that for some time now... the primary work isn't published yet".
