The Bottle Thread
Re: The Bottle Thread
Found a rounded-bottom blob-top in Townsend Bay this morning. Nice color, and a frosted beach glass look.
Not sure yet whether I will leave the barnacles on or not.

Well this is fun! Found in Townsend Bay this past weekend...
Franklin Hart Remedy Co, New York. Circa 1880, "FLORAPLEXION cures Dyspepsia Liver Complaint and Consumption". Wow! A panacea.

From Monday's dive (#799!)
Two Washington Territory medicine bottles in perfect condition. "N.D. Hill & Sons Druggists Port Townsend, W.T."
Washington became a state in 1889, so these have been sitting on the ocean bottom since before then. Waiting for me!

Bottle diving! I did 3000 dives before I ever picked up a bottle. I burned through miles of velvia 50 film and identifies all those undersea critters.....then i found my first Hutchison blob top.. such a fun andventure collecting junk from the past!! If you want to dive in Tacoma some Wednesday night, let me show you my secret spots..

Re: The Bottle Thread
Was dithering on whether to dive today, it being rainy and mucky out. Glad I went!
Found a German (?) stoneware mineral water jug. 1880's? The first one I've seen come out of the bay here. Wow!

Nice going Glen! I've seen lots of pieces but intact ones are few and far.

Found a full bottle of corona this summer at the bottom of lake washington while diving the corsair. Not sure of vintage. Had to pour it into a glass to drink it because of some muck near the mouth of the bottle under the cap.

Re: The Bottle Thread
OK, not a bottle, but it is an un-damaged coffee cup, no cracks, no chips, found over the weekend in the silt at about 100'. As far as I can tell, this is the old ASC logo, which seems to have disappeared from 1927 - 1931 when the new logo showed up.
