I'm thinking black, or the Hawaiian print.

Well, a) there is no rule against it... and b) so long as it's black I think it's in!! \:D/

But since nobody is answering my question, I ordered the red flower one... and now I'm thinking I want the black one. I'm changing my mind back and forth worse than a woman in the mall!! #-o Geez. ](*,)

I think I'll end up doing what all strong mall-shopping women do... I'll buy both. \:D/

Personally, I thought the red flowered one was coolest, and if I hadn't already purchased (and have yet to pay for) my new light and video housing/system, I'd be buying one too...

Sigh...

Good call on the Hawaiian one Doug. That's cool.

Thanks for the link - I'm still happy with the SCAP one, but after searching unsuccessfully for a while, it's nice to know there are other options out there. I like the bit of thermal protection (not too much, but just enough) from the neoprene and the Hawaiian print is growing on me.

I think I may get a black one too and have DRM (my initials) embroidered on it... so a) it's black, and b) identifies me clearly to my team. \:D/ Course, that would decrease the effectiveness of the thermal protection... but it'd sure look cool!! :supz:

Tom is still deciding on which one he wants but he's leaning toward the blue camo or the red Hawaiian like mine.

Other than spending money, the purpose behind these would be.....what?

Well, of course they look cool.

My thoughts for purpose would be a small amout of thermal protection and top-of-head sun protection between wearing the sun hat and being underwater... with plenty of sunblock of course.

It was recommended to me that I wear something on my head - and a "beanie" which looks to me more like an old-style leather football helmet just didn't have the same "right" look for feel I was looking for.

...but let's be honest - they just look like fun.

In the tropics I tend to burn mostly on my nose.

Here's a "redneck" solution.....

No - you sip the fruity drinks so you don't care if you get burnt!

Posting pictures like that will get people talking!! #-o

Well, I've got a true sun-hat which is what I wear when doing things like spending 8 days rafting the entire Grand Canyon in the middle of the summer... but it doesn't dive well. I'll be wearing it before/after dives but I'll be sporting my new Hawaiian "scap" underwater. :supz:

Thanks for the approval Brian! I'm glad you, and everyone else, didn't take the "flower prints are for women" opinion!! Whew! \:D/

Nice Picture! :supz:

I think the purpose of said rag (at least for me, since I gave up looking cool a LONG time ago) is primarily for a bit of thermal protection since the plan is to attempt to do 5 to 6 dives a day. I'll be wearing a 2ml shorty, and don't think I will have a problem, but it would be a "just in case" kind of thing.

I'm sure there will be pics of Doug and I in Bonaire in our Scuba Do Rags sipping something or other circulating on the internet before too long! \:D/ It takes real men to wear matching DoRags!

Mine arrived last night!! \:D/ Sweeeeet! I wore it around the house most of the evening... in part because I wanted to wear my new hat, and also in part because it drove Mrs. Sounder nuts. :supz:
