Tonight at Redondo viz was great. At least 15' and probably more but that is about as far as the light would shine

Dove into the Super Bowl yesterday. By the end of the game, vis was a little hazy at best.

The Hauler in the lake, vis was about 6 feet or so on Saturday, with a hazy layer from 20 feet to the surface.

I'm getting argon soon, and I want to go back to the lake. Glad to hear the vis is so good. I think last time I dove it vis was like 18".

Viz at Three Tree North this morning was 40'. A bit of particulate in the water, but just beautiful, topside and below.

Viz at TTN Thursday night was farther than the light would shine. Amazing.

With what I've seen at TTN lately even Sounder's 50 watt Salvo water boiler would not have reached the edge of viz there.

Redondo last night was 20 - 30' at night. Nice even with lots of divers in the water. Great winter viz lately, at least in the South sound sites.

Dove at Sunrise Beach today at 8:30 am, visibility was approx. 20'. Dive time was 30 minutes with a max depth of 65'. Current was variable depending on depth; southbound between 50-60' and northbound at 60-70'. One large GPO near the sound end of the wall in a large crack and one large wolf eel on eggs near the north end of the wall.

Sund Rock this morning was 10', opened up a little bit around 100fsw, but not by much.
Quite a crowd out there today, barely enough room for all the vehicles. So as you can imagine, the silt clouds didn't help much for the viz either.

Still, it was an enjoyable couple of dives. The combination of a little good-feelin' narc, subdued ambient light, and a mini forest of slim white sea whips always makes for a good one.

But I'm doin' Muk tomorrow. I gotta see me a squid. =D>

If you don't have any luck finding squid at Mukilteo you might consider the Alki Junkyard. Had a great dive there on Thursday night and their were a pair of squid hanging around egg cases near the west end of the park. Have a great dive!

My wife and I dove T.T.N. today, 2/14. First dive was about noon and second around 2pm. Viz was 15 ft. and maybe not that good on the second dive. Lot of silt in the water.

DiverBob's report puzzled me and worried me a bit - 10 to 15' viz at TTN in the Winter is NOT normal. Today I found out what was going on.

Three Tree North - Monday 2/16 - 20' viz at depth, shot to heck in the shallows. We had a strong wind out of the Northwest that was pounding the north side of the point. Easily the highest waves / strongest surf I've experienced diving this site, and I dive it more than once a month year round. I'm not good at estimating wave heights, (I'm guessing 2-3') but there were a couple that broke over my head while we were putting our fins on. Tide was high and the seas were jumpin'! Surfboards would not have been inappropriate!

Wow Tom, that sounds entertaining!! When we dove it on Saturday, it was at the ebb of about a 0 tide. A long walk back up the beach. There was not much wind then so the water was flat.

My guess is that it would take the particulate a good while to settle... so even if it was flat tomorrow the viz still won't be real good for a couple of days. At least that's my theory and I'm sticking to it! :book:

Pt Whitney - 25 feet
Octopus Hole - 6 feet
Yellow House - 6 feet down to 20 fsw then opened up to maybe 15 feet deeper than 20. What ever it was it was enough to see more octos than I could keep track of including one on eggs.
