Re: Needing a CCR fix
This is a great thread with lots of good information for anyone interested in learning about Rebreathers.John Rawlings wrote:Thanks. Typo fixed.
It is true that at the NW Dive Expo this year on Saturday and Sunday April 25th and 26th that you will be able to try out rebreathers in the pool at the Expo.
The rebreathers that will be available for tryouts will be:
Inspiration/Evolution
Kiss Rebreathers
Megalodon
rEvo
This will be a great opportunity for people to talk to the manufactures, learn about rebreathers and try them in the pool.

curt,
id love to see a new thread about the revo that you and mel are rocking. i know the san diego tech crew is doing some big dives with them and would like to know how it is treating you. are you doing the manual, revo dreams, or have a pursuit wired into it.

Chin high, puffed chest, we step right to it
The choice is there ain't no choice but to pursue it

Re: Needing a CCR fix
One other mCCR worth checking out is the Pelagian http://www.therebreathersite.nl/05_Revi ... _dcccr.htm. The Pelagian incorporates a depth compensating first stage and an adjustable needle valve rather than a mass flow orifice or a solenoid/set point controller. the reported advantage of a needle valve is that it eliminates the depth limitation of the typical mCCR while avoiding the complexity and auto pilot mentality of the eCCR. the needle valve has it's skeptics , those who believe that adding unnecessary complexity to the mCCR is a bad idea. I"m not ready to run out and get a pelagian, but my curiostiy is peaked enough that I am in the process of seeing for myself just how well the needle valve concept suits me, more on that in a future thread.
