The Offical Word on Smokey Point Diving

Post by resonanceguitar »

Ok everyone, I told you all that I would let you know when I knew what was going on here, so here it is.
SPD is for sure closing it's doors in the next couple weeks. THIS IS IT! It's not a rumor. We appreciate everything that everyone has done, and the support people have shown over the last almost 4 years. We are selling everything in the store including rental gear and fixtures. Again, thank you everyone.

Many many thanks for the great conversations, tips, and advice. It was great meeting everyone and hearing their dives stories and such; everyone always willing to chat and make friends. It was a good atmosphere to be in and one that will be missed.

Wishing you all the best; we'll see you around the sound.
I'll be there with buoys on.

I'm really sorry to see SPD go and I wish the Kings all the best in their future endeavors. It's a real bummer to loose the last source of airfills north of Lynnwood.

Yeh but they are harder to get to and I hate Lynnwood traffic. Discount Divers is close to work an I can get to them the days I drive.

I am really sorry to see SPD go, I consider you all my friends and know you will land on your feet!

The obvious answer to getting fills in the north end is that Mattley should buy the SPD compressor and put it in his garage. \:D/

Don't think I'm not thinking about it. Unfortunately the asking price for the SPD one is way outta my league :crybaby:

Sounds like it's time to take up a collection. I've got $.79 and a pack of gum. Who else wants to chip in?

I've got several Coca-Cola bottle caps with the codes inside them that get you a free 20 oz when you collect enough of them. Does that help?

I went there last night and they were open. Friday I think is the last day. Nothing really left but fins and a transpack harness.
