Condition of the Les Davis Steps

Post by alm »

Can someone tell me whether the Les Davis steps are clear at the moment?

The last time I looked was President's Day weekend, at which time they were impassable
due to a major pile of driftwood.

was there Presidents Day weekend and braved it... 2 weeks later they were clear. Logs were up on the rock walls around the steps but the path was clear.

I was up by there last week, not much to have to deal with. But that can change in just a matter of hours.

Thanks all.
Understand it is changeable, but if it was stable bad and/or worse, I would
have been able to tell my dive shop owner that her weekend plan is nuts :-).
There's one instructor at her shop that would probably be willing to
crawl down the rocks though, so there it is.

msmith must be a lot of diver (or not carrying much gear).

No... I just didnt want to make the walk back to the lot. My buddy and I did talk about climbing up the rocks on exit, but the tide came in enough to move the debris out of the way.

Drysiut and Steel 100, I was more worried about impailing myself in a branch on the way in.

The steps are clear, or at least they were the past two weekends. I taught OW there the last 2 Sundays - viz may have suffered, but the steps were fine.
