Hood Canal

Post by deep diver »

met up with James today for some diving in hood canal. Vis has been pretty good down to 30 and then again past 60. Little foggy between.

Did our firs dive about 25', saw something pretty good size zip in front of me and realized it was a shark. Bigger than I thought a dog fish should be, but then about a 3' came cruising in over James' head. If he had just looked up and got a picture with his camera we could have had a real good picture. It cruised over in front of me giving me the once over. By the time I turned my camera on he was on his way.

Found some great nudi's ... different kinds. All seem to be laying eggs.

Haven't seen any grunts for awhile until James pointed this one out to me. He blended in so well I just don't know how he spotted him.

Great day for diving... thanks James

Yea, pretty cute little thing... wish I had gotten a picture of the bigger one. there was a big herring ball they were feeding on, always a great place to see one zipping in and out

Where on the Canal were you guys diving... we were at Sund on Sunday and there seemed to be an abundance of "life" out and about.

That's a great picture of the dogfish Dale. I think you are figuring out the strobes too. The first nudi picture has really nice even lighting.
