Feeding time.
Feeding time.
I don't know if this is OK or not, but I have on occasion, tracked down a crab and offered it to a octo. Half the time they reach out and take it the other half they just look at it. I would never bring human food to feed the critters as that's just wrong. But is offering a crab going to disrupt the fabric of the underwater world?

Re: Feeding time.
I would think it's only a problem if any one particular octo gets used to being fed and "pulls attitude" with divers that don't have a crab with them. It could happen, they are really smart!
I highly doubt they would forget how to hunt for themselves.

Yes. Check out the wolfie behavior at Day Island sometime. Just my opinion.
