In what application?
They supposedly make great tiny sidemount tanks (I wouldn't know)
Good for O2 in caves since it'll stay put where you drop it
Its too heavy with a reg to make a good OW deco cylinder since you'll have to take weight off elsewhere. So if you have to ditch it you'll be too light.
Can't put it on a leash as its heavy
Full enough at 2200 makes it good for transfilling O2
Expensive compared to an AL40

I concur with your statement, the disadvantages outweigh the advantages.Thought they might be good for transfilling O2 and future cave training. They do seem quite heavy at 26lbs to an al 40's 15lb. It is imaginable that they could hold about 60 cu, not for O2 though.
