words to live by "the pool is open"

Post by al NDOF »

I’ve been reading all your trip reports and dive plans for a short while, I found them extremely friendly and entertaining. This seams like a really good dive club with lots of active members with lots of experience. Love the pictures.
I’m relatively new at scuba diving (37 dives) my open water & advanced open water certification was with Under Water Sports several years ago. Lately I dove a lot of warm water locations and got totally addicted. I’m thinking I need at least one dive a month to keep SD withdrawals at bay. Wife’s the limiting factor, once a week would be better.
I can’t imagine sucking a fart out of a donkeys butt, but then I’ve never been out of air.

See ya in the water sometime. :salute:

Welcome Al!
Yeah I thought I would go on the "at least once a moth" plan myself,
but it turned out to be more like the "once or twice a week" plan.
I am totally addicted!!!
If you ever want to hook up for some mid week diving
{Like Tuesday or Wednesday} send me a pm!
I dive more in the south end and around.
Redondo or Three tree N. is about the farthest north.

I agree though, you should, dive at least once a month!
Lets go Diving! :supz:

Welcome.

Sparky may call it a POD, but I still think it is a "Fruit and Nut bowl" \:D/

Hope to see you wet.

Al,
Welcome to the NWDiveClub! Good luck on the once a month. Once you have the bug I don't think that will cut it. Two weeks feel like an eternity to be out of the water. Enjoy the club

Hey bud!

Welcome to the club! Glad you found us. Don't worry - sucking farts is a technique taught around the #120 to #150 dive time-frame. You've got time to practice between now and then. :vom:

See ya in the water!

Welcome Al!

From another addicted diver... Once a week doesn't even cut it anymore.. I need the salt water at least twice a week or I shrivel up into a prune..

Cheers,

Holly

You divers up North are so spoiled. I am lucky if I can get up there two times a month. :pale:

I think I would have to move.. The addiction really is that bad.. I feel like the wicked witch of the west in reverse.. "I'm drying out I'm drying out..." It's not so much that I am spoiled I really jones if I don't get wet.. I wanted to get lasix but they said it would be like 6 weeks out of the water.. I think I would die.. At least get the shakes and puke or something.. :vom:

Don't hate on me because I live up north.. =)

Welcome Al,

If Sparky would get off his a$$ and start talking about the next dive club trip, we might be the "most fun to hang out with".

thanks for all the welcome!!

I've been diving with KirbyCook a couple of times; he's a good buddy to have, really knows his way in the water.

There seams to be a lot of newbie’s login on to this site; maybe it's time for you old salts to host a group dive at EUWP or ??? to get everyone ready for winter diving or whatever. A picnic sounds good with lots of beer :occasion5: and lots of new friends.:partyman:

just a thought

Thanks Al...

I'll second your idea about a group dive. I've actually spoken to Sparky and Jay about it when they were last up this way... Sparky must have done such a good job putting together the last NWDC group dive that he's marked for life now. =D>

Maybe we can form a little group to plan something... At the very least we should promote the informal weekly dives. Maybe a group dive this weekend to commemorate Mr. Columbus?

I'd be up for a dive get together. If we do Edmonds EWP, maybe someone could show me where the fricking Triumph is! I've been there 3 times recently and STILL haven't found it! :angryfire:

Rumor has it that it broke apart during some big storm. Is that true? :bounce:

I like the idea, however, the weather forecast for this weekend is nasty; tides aren’t great either ’damn’.
We need to give this idea some time to generate a little momentum. Sunday Oct 14th has a shallow 4ft flood and good tides at Everett :book: ; maybe that would be a date to plan on.

Yeah I know... those damn meteorologists....

I'm planning on diving rain or shine though... and don't mind making it a group dive. Tides aren't so much an issue at places like Cove 2... theres a post in the planning forum if folks are interested in a group dive this weekend.

EXCELLENT! I've scheduled the 14th in my Outlook calendar for diving, and cleared my buddy's schedule for the day, so let's dive!!!

1st payday's not till the 19th, so I'll have to not go nuts shopping for gear between now and then....
