Excellent video!! Thanks for sharing.
I doubt I will ever be diving to those kind of depths, but it sure is cool to see what's down there.

Re: MMM 6-10-13
Well, it went much better today aside from some minor equipment malfunctions. Starting to get my buoyancy dialed in. Viz today wasn't the greatest, but got to see the geodome for the first time. Super cool! It was larger than I expected. I got to see the wolf eel living in the stack of pipes, too! A...

Re: MMM 6-10-13
Excellent! I have improved a couple things in my setup and remembered a backup flashlight this time, so things are already going better
Anyone else that would like to dive on this beautiful day, the more the merrier!!
See ya down there.

MMM 6-10-13
It's official. MMM is happening tomorrow and I will be there.
This will be my 7th dive (2nd time on all new-to-me equipment, so I'm working on the basics)
Who else is in? Splash at 4:00

Re: MMM still happening?
Unfortunately my work schedule makes most other organized dives very difficult. I work swing shift with Sat, Sun, Mon off.
So, the MMM dive is perfect for my schedule! I may try to organize some weekday dives a little earlier (11 am or Noon) in the not too distant future.

Re: MMM still happening?
I had a feeling you'd know exactly what that was :) Gotta be one of the coolest things I have seen in the water yet! Just after that little guy had jumped off of your finger, I saw a small shell moving along the bottom and looked closer to see a tiny creature of some sort tugging it along. No bigger...

Re: Puget Sound Report Card
So depressing! I recently was looking into fishing (never had the patience for it as a kid, so I essentially know nothing about it...other than I like to eat fish). Between the extensive and hard to follow rules, the art of truly being able to actually catch fish, and the chart that shows how much o...

Re: MMM still happening?
And I think my favorite part of the dive was the tiny little starfish that was crawling on Nwbrewer's glove. Took me a minute to realize what it was....looked like a little piece of seaweed at first! Soooo many amazing creatures in the Sound.

Re: MMM still happening?
Even with my issues, I had a GREAT time on this dive! Got to check out a new location, meet some great guys, and learned a lot. Can't wait for my next dive!! I have a list of things to work on and things to change with my setup that will help my future diving to go much smoother. :) I'm totally havi...

Re: Straps anyone?
OK, first I gotta say thanks to everyone for their advice and opinions. I am brand spankin new and I'll take all the info I can get! Even the seemingly small stuff makes a big difference. I am going with the 1.5" only because that's what is currently attached to my wing (Deep Outdoors brand...a...

Re: MMM still happening?
WOW, do I ever have some work to do! Getting used to new gear is a lot of work and my drysuit absolutely kicked my ass. Aside from my complete lack of buoyancy control I had a GREAT time today and thankful beyond words for the guidance and patience of more experienced divers! Thank you so much NWBre...

Re: Straps anyone?
Strapworks is pretty awesome and I recommend them too, but did you try Seattle Fabrics? That was one place I didn't try. Got so frustrated with all my running around in Snohomish County (I live in Everett), I wasn't going to Seattle. There was 1 fabric store that did have 1.5" nylon webbing......

Straps anyone?
OK, so this may seem a little odd but since I encountered it...I thought maybe someone else has, too. I bought a used BP/W setup a while back and the crotch strap was too short. I figure no problem...it's just a piece of nylon webbing. Went to every fabric store, craft store, and REI....no luck! Ed'...

Re: MMM still happening?
I am doing the new gear thing too....like EVERYTHING. This is my first outing with my own gear. :) With my work schedule, Mondays are the perfect day for me to dive and Mukilteo is a very convenient location....so I may end up being the "Who's wants to dive Mukilteo?" guy. This will only b...

Well, if anyone would like to head down Monday I will be there and hopefully a new dive buddy I met at the outdoor expo (and hopefully a couple family members of his as well)
Would be cool to get a group of folks together!

Is anyone still going to Mukilteo on Mondays?
I need to get my butt back in the water and get all my gear dialed-in.
Hoping some of you fine experienced folks will be on hand to help out a newbie

Re: Drysuit undergarment questions
Actually in addition to all the other good stuff folks have pointed out, in this case it also will depend a lot on how deep he dives. "fluffy" (non compressed, non crushed) neoprene suits loose some thermal capacity at depth (30' and they are like half the suit they were on the surface). ...

Re: Drysuit undergarment questions
Great replies all!! I did my certification dives in a 7mm wetsuit at Edmonds and Cove 2...didn't get uncomfortably cold at any point. Longest dive was probably an hour. I am thinking the Cabelas long johns might be the way to go! Thanks a bunch everyone! Will probably see some of you at Mukilteo in ...

Drysuit undergarment questions
I am rounding up my last bits of gear and getting ready to get back in the water. Picked up a good used drysuit and trying to figure out what type of undergarment setup I should be looking for. The suit is made by Oceaner and is neoprene (same as my wetsuit, seems to be regular ol neoprene...not cru...

Hi Daniel! Glad you found this group and hope you enjoyed Advanced Open Water. I will end up taking it when my work schedule is more forgiving. I'm keeping my eyes open for a good snorkel for ya!!

Re: Newbie questions about gear
Greenacarina I'd give the shop a call. Once you have met with your instructor and have the paper/temp card in hand there shouldn't be a problem getting some tanks. And +1 on getting out to see and talk with people about what they dive and why they do things a certain way. The divers who have well t...

Re: Newbie questions about gear
My card comment was directed more at my lack of tanks. No card = no rentals or fills. You used to get a temp card for PADI OW classes, even if that isn't the case you shouldn't have a problem getting fills and gear from the shop that certified you. Well, the temp card that I've got is the "Scu...
