Re: Inflatable Dive Boat F/S
Sad day indeed - that is a great looking dive boat. I hope you find a good home for it.

I'm not sure if they are prepared to accept donations, but the Northwest Straits Foundation has a great derelict fishing gear removal program:

The "morse code" pattern on the side of its body looks a lot like a Snake Prickleback, so I would go with that, but you're right - I'm not used to them hanging around long enough to get a good look at them or their lips!

Great report and photos! Deception Pass is definitely on my bucket list. Could you tell what kind of fish that anemone was digesting?

Great report Blaiz! Other than the wet undergarments it sounds like you had a great couple of dives. I'm really looking forward to getting out to Keystone for the club dive later this month!

Re: A New Site!
Hi Dave,
Great site report and I'm glad you had a good dive. I've wondered about that stretch of shoreline a few times, but never had a chance to check it out. Now I can add it to my list! Sounds like a great critter dive - Did you check to see if it was listed on the REEF site index?

Hi Claire, Welcome to NWDC! A number of us contribute to projects such as the annual octopus census, octopus midden surveys, and REEF inventory surveys so if there are specific observations that you're looking for, please do not hesitate to ask for volunteers - I'm always looking for an excuse to di...

Congratulations Kevin! The photographs and dive trip reports on NWDC keep me sane during my work week, so it's fun to see someone new taking up photography and posting. I look forward to seeing more of your photos and reading about your dives.

I'm sorry to hear that and hoping that you recover quickly. That's the first time I've heard that diagnosis - did the doctor say, or does anyone else know if that is a common problem among divers?

A new use for old oil rigs?
Was just reading this article on an oil rig that was repurposed as a scuba dive hotel and thought it would be worth sharing with the group: http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052748703376504575491662467118800.html Apparently in Singapore "you can buy a used drilling platform just like you ...

Great shot Bob! I just got back from a trip to the arctic (where seals really are food) and I think I'd prefer to see them underwater than on the plate - they have a very strong flavor.

Congratulations on publishing your photo! When H20Doc asked about a photo I found yours on your photo stream and thought it was the best photo of a Red Brotula I had seen. I look forward to seeing it in Andy's new book.

At this point my wife would just like them out of our garage so I am willing to bargain. I've corrected the ad (although it might take a few minutes to update). Thanks for the heads up and sorry about the confusion.

Red Brotula Sightings
A couple of weeks ago I spotted my first Red Brotula at Three Tree and based on its distended belly it looked to be preparing to spawn. Based on what I'd read about this fish it surprised me to find it at a depth of ~75' so I was wondering if this species may move up to shallower depths to spawn? Ha...

Re: Cove 2 ... again ...
Hey Bob, I spotted my first Red Brotula over at Three Tree a couple of weeks ago and noticed that it's belly was pretty distended - perhaps getting ready to lay some eggs? I was surprised to see one so shallow (~75') and was wondering if anyone on the board has noticed whether the Brotulas move into...
