Hello everyone! My name's Nick and I just moved to Seattle proper with my girlfriend. We're both certified (I'm AOW and she's OW) and are both close to having all the required gear to dive the PNW. I'd really appreciate any recommendations relating to wetsuit/drysuit - its the last gear I need to get into the water!
Looking forward to exploring above and below sea-level!

Very few people have the cold tolerance to do 2 dive days with wetsuits. Go dry.

Dry, definitely! Get a suit that fits well and the warmest undergarments you can manage. Many shops offer a drysuit orientation class with the purchase of a suit.
Welcome to the board, and to the PNW!

Welcome, and +2 to the drysuit recommendation!
Re: First Time Cold-Water Diver Checking In Here
Welcome to the PNW. Where do you hail from? Having not gone dry, I will say that if you dive a lot (weekly, multiple consecutive days) a wetsuit isn't for everyone. Consider renting different suits w/ your drysuit course to determine the style that works for you, if you can.

Thanks for all the recommendations! I'll look into dry suits.
I moved here from Boston, from the Central Coast of California originally. I've only dived tropical reefs, so this is all new to me

Had some college buddies from Boston, good dudes. Only tropical reef we have around here is in the aquarium! However, we've got the best cold water reefs (IMO) to be found! Don't take my word for it. Cruise the pic posts of some very talented peeps on this forum.
