12-inch light-edged ribbon worm?

Post by ktb »

So I'm almost positive I saw one of these cool creatures at Redondo last night (sorry, no camera), but the Lamb and Hanby book says they only grow to 6 inches (pg. 120). I know this one was at least a foot long. Was it a freak of nature or do we just grow them bigger in the Puget Sound?

Maybe it migrated from Texas where everything's bigger?

We grow allot of critters bigger here. Especially nudies so why not worms? I saw one there last month on a night dive also and I'm sure he was longer than 6" Here is his picture.

We get Cerebratulus that are over 12' contracted which may mean over 10 feet when extended. I really think they should be called rubber worms, not ribbon worms.
