And the rest of the cast
And the rest of the cast
I posted the crustations so now the rest of the critters. This first feather duster worm looks like something you would find on a coral reef
This little guy has a nice condo. A REALLY close look at one of our favorite subjects some call this a pig fish and up close you can see why. Look at the spines on the nose. They look like tusks and a close look will show that this little guy has spines all over to make for a pretty good defense for a little guy that can't swim to good. Hows this for camouflage? This guy is looking for love.http://dustys-lights.com/, An awesome light at an unbelievably low price

1 & 2 are great shots. In the first one you can really see why this genus was named Schizobranchia which means split branchiae. The feathery crowns are made up of radioles (the individual branches) which all carry 2 rows of fine pinnules that filter food particles out of the water & absorb oxygen. Unique among the sabellids, in this genus the radioles repeatedly split into 2 branches. 2nd shot shows 2 color morphs of Schizobranchia insignis living among Eudistylia vancouveri.
