Where ya thinking about going? Hood Canal again? How about Porteau Cove? I do a camping/diving trip up there every year with my old YMCA group and it's great. This year we did most of our diving at Whytecliffe, and that was awesome ...

Bob-

What time of the year do you go up there?

Sparky-

Good idea. I'd be interested in coming out for this sometime this summer, I've chatted with a bunch of you all, met some of you, but haven't dived with many yet. It would be awesome to get out for a weekend and change that.

I'd definitely be in for a trip to Porteau Cove. I dove WhyteCliffe Park once last year and have wanted to do some more exploring up there.

More info please!!! Where? facilities? diving? etc. etc.

:bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

If Bob says it was awesome I can hardly wait!

Also, I know that no one person should dictate a diving schedule, but FWIW I'll be in Israel the month of July and diving the Red Sea! :supz:

So what are you sayin' Tom?
Club Dive at the Red Sea? :smt119
Porteau Cove looks very interesting =D> .
I wonder what kind of accomidations we could find.
Inexspensive, near the water and other diver friendly ammenities?
What we would need is to find another "El Dive Cassa"
If we got enough divers + non-divers, maybe a large Beach House would be a posibility.
I will check out VRBO.com (vacation rentals by owner).

THe link that Bassman posted had pretty consistent complaints about Summer Viz. Perhaps this is a better Winter Club trip? What do you think Bob, have you dove her in the Summer?

Hey!
If we are thinkin about BC, I will be diving up there in mid March with a group at Thetis Island / Chemainus area.
To dive on the 737-400 Aircraft and other wrecks. I will gather as much info as I can while I'm there to see if that could be a possible club dive weekend.

The group I'm diving with is - 8 divers, two days of boat diving, two night accomidations, food + possible night ,shore dives.

Kind of exspensive.

No availability , I got the last slot. :bootyshake:

But the 737 should be able to be done as a shore dive. I will find out.

I will give a full report when I get back.

What other places of intrest could be done as a club weekend dive?
The more inexspensive = The more attendance we will have.

I have done the 737. That is not a shore dive, unless you are on DPVs.

I am up for a BC trip. What about Kal and Ann's?

This month's issue of Northwest Dive News has a write up on Porteau Cove and Howe Sound. It's a good read!

My suggestion is we do it around the same weekend as last year's, the first weekend before Fourth of July. This year it would be June 29 - July 1st. Do the winter trip around the same as last year's too, first weekend after Thanksgiving. If we all know approximately when the two big trips are every year, it will make it easier to plan for.

I think we should plan a 3-day camp-out on the beach next to Mr. Angry's house at Day Island Wall! :bootyshake:

i was thinking along the same lines as you Rich

I realy had not had much time befor now to make any calls but I will get some contacts out in the next few days as I am starting to have a little more free time in the evenings I can start sending out some emailsand see what kinds of responces we get back illbe sure to keep every one posted.

it should be noted at this time a BC trip is out of the question for me due to some things going on here at home and work any one not ok with the Hood Canal one more time?
