"THE rEvos ARE COMING"

Post by Curt McNamee »

We have started our rEvo class and will be down at Cove ll Sat, Sun & Monday.

We will have 6 rEvo's in the water, come down and take a look.

We did the pool yesterday and all went very well, today it will be drills, drills, drills and more drills in our first OW dives.

Love the unit so far.

Cheers !!!!

I had the privilege of meeting Curt the other day and getting a full presentation and breakdown of these units.

I must admit, I am very impressed with the dual scrubbers (less waste when re-packing, etc.), and the streamlined packaging of the units. The units I looked at, had no counter-lungs in the front to get in the way (something I hate on my Evolution) and in fact I had to ask where they were, as they are neatly packaged inside the frame, to where you cannot even see them. A very compact and streamlined unit.

I'm definitely going to have to take one for a spin. (Although, I am still not quite ready to give up my Evolution)

Great to hear it's going so well Curt! Eliz and I were planning to do a dive tomorrow to test her new exhaust valve on her dry suite and to take the new Pursuits for a spin. we might just have to make it an Alki dive!

Glad to hear that it's going well for all of you, Curt!

I went down to Cove 2 today to see the rEVOs in action but you had already left with Bruce and Lynne. Still, I was able to talk to the designer of the unit as well as some of the almost "newly minted" eEVO divers.

It certainly is an intriguing machine! I really like its small size and weight. One thing that I found to be kinda disconcerting, though, was the location of the manual add valves at the back and base of the unit. I'm not too keen about that, but that's based more on my own personal taste than anything else. I'm fairly confident that it would simply be a matter of getting used to it.
