Leaving the Professional Dive Life
As some have heard, and others will now know, we are closing our scuba shop. (Scuba Shoppe). It's been a wild ride. In 2001, I took my first Open Water class, wanting to be an instructor. I pictured white sand beaches and a little grass shack in the tropics. Honestly, I sucked as an Open Water stude...

Re: Tried Kayak diving? Got any tips?
Just came across this thread. We're bringing in RTM Kayaks....they are rotomolded with a deep tracking skeg built in and a lot more stable than the typical sit on top designed for play paddling in tropical locations. It's the number one kayak manufacturer in Europe (and I didn't know this before...b...

Halcyon 60# wing and weight
Ok...first...this is Cindy posting as Cindy and has NOTHING to do with the Shoppe she owns. (So...personal sale...no warranty from her business, etc) I picked up a Halcyon Wing in a trade...and since I'm uber recreational, certainly don't have a need for it. I just wanted the tanks that came with th...

FOUND: Weightbelt at Redondo
We heard about a weightbelt with a knife attached spotted at 70' deep, so we sent our team down to retrieve it.
We've got it at the Shoppe...very distinctive weightbelt. Possibly a freedivers?
Identify it, claim it...and it's yours.

Re: Where to buy a 5mm wetsuit in Seattle?
SHAMELESS PLUG - There's a Shoppe in Auburn that has 1, 3, 5 and 7mm suits in stock. I don't feel bad about giving the shameless plug, since very few of the Northwest divers have been into our shop. We also can direct ship any of our items to your home at any speed you'd like, which means the longes...

Lost Aeris Weight Pouch at Redondo
One of our customers lost a weight pouch at Redondo near the PVC pipe boat. It's an Aeris weight pouch with 8 lbs of weight in it. Knowing the dive community wants to return anything found when able...this can be returned to GirlDiver (130 E Main St. Auburn) or UWS Federal Way (but let me know if yo...

Re: Dive flag at Redondo
At 3:00...there was a boat that pulled in with 3 guys fishing...directly over the 40' line...pretty much over the Beetle. They were there about 15 minutes, saw diver bubbles and decided the fish were probably all scared away.

No...not mine...I just have students at Redondo...(which I don't lose) Today the parking guy at Redondo informed me that a diver reported leaving his scooter in about 40' of water in front of the MaST Center a few days ago. He had to come up for some reason (just telling what I was told here..) and ...

Friday Harbor Marine was named as one of the businesses the pier relocated per the radio report (not the news...but a longer report on one of the talk stations). Sounded like it was bad...probably no compressor.

Re: Missing Diver off South Bainbridge
So does DNR service their own regulators? I know most gov't agencies send them out. This report definitely clarifies the legal ramifications of a shop servicing regulators with "black market" parts kits. It's a standard practice in the industry, as the manufacturers require that the shop c...
